Advent Heroes - Day Ten
I must admit it took me a long time to get the Colin Firth thing. Ironically it was seeing him in Mamma Mia (where his character turned out to be gay) that made me realise just how yummy he is. I think it's because he's older now and I've always preferred a more seasoned hero. So I've been catching up on all his earlier work, including Pride and Prejudice (which I did watch at the time but not for Colin), and his Bridget Jones films. My favourite though is in Love Actually where he learns Portuguese just to ask the woman he loves to marry him. It's wonderful!

Ahhh, lovely Colin. The quintessential Englishman, he does a very good line in 'buttoned up' heroes but with a centre as soft as a gooey caramel. Good choice Sally!
ReplyDeleteHe's lovely but a bit too short for my taste! Clever photography makes this not matter when he's acting. Interesting how many 'heroes' actually post pictures on the web of them looking young. Liam (of yesterday) certainly looks much older now. Glad you put me right ladies .. freudian slip there! Chrissie
ReplyDeleteSo now we know about your secret passion for Liam Gallagher, Chrissie ;-)
ReplyDeleteAs for picturse of them looking young, I tend to just go for them in the younger looking pictures. There are lots of current ones on there. I think Colin, in this picture, is about middle for diddle (as we say in Derbyshire).
This is a beautiful pic of Colin. Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh, it only took me as long as snapping my fingers to drool over that wet shirt scene in P&P and fall in love with this guy. Yummo. And he hasn't really disappointed me since in his variety of roles, Bridget Jones' Diary, The King's Speech and so much more...
